16 February 2020 The Weekend in Review

Mood Song: Loser by Beck.  Sometimes, or a lot, I feel like a total loser.  Not that I really feel like one now, or at the times I do feel like a loser care that I’m a loser.

I did some running on Saturday.  Stepped on the scale before I went running and weighed in at 202.  Which, isn’t terrible, but I’d like to lose some weight to be healthier.  The insurance survey I had to take to make sure my premium was lower says that I should be at 164 due to my height, which I may have put in the correct height this time.  Current goal is for 168, which is possible.  Once I start running at 6 mph, the weight sheds off.

I’m still feeling a bit sick.  I’m definitely tired.

Besides not being with who I wanted to be with, this weekend was somewhat a success.  I got 2000 words written on Saturday.  Some days writing is like pulling teeth.  Not always smooth sailing.  But I made myself write anyway.

My six weeks of no drinking was up on Friday.  I went to the craft beer shop for a bit on Saturday.  I explained that I now dedicate Saturdays to writing and then what my goal is.  I’ll still stop by, but won’t stay as long so I get more writing done.

So this week, I will work on the final sequence a bit and then the scenes were Milo learns more about his powers.  Glum will learn more about her powers.  I changed up Milo’s back story a bit.  Like Milo’s ex-wife had never loved him to begin with and ran away with a younger lover.  In the story Milo compares Glum to his ex-wife to determine if Glum really meant to hurt him.  Only to feel guilty later when he finds out that Glum had been on the run from Kurt and that she was always true to him.  I will add a scene where Kurt and Milo face off in the first third.  Then when he thinks back on his life a.k.a. the flashback scenes, Milo realizes that his whole life had been Kurt prodding him in some way.  Milo discovers that he was a loser because Kurt had been messing with his life.  Just some thoughts.

Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire is actually pretty cool, now that the story has began and the girls are in ‘the Moor’ world.  Still exposition everywhere, but I’m okay with that.  I like the story.

I thought of the book All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka as a reference to the chronomancer sequences.  I started re-reading sections of the book.  The movie Edge of Tomorrow is based off of the book.  The book is cooler in some respect but the movie has a better ending.  The author doesn’t do anything special.  Some scenes start out the same way and others don’t.  But once ‘the thing’ is established, it’s straight forward.  But I can learn from the action sequences on how to write an action scene.

So this week will be exercising and writing.  Then I need to plan out what I want to do for a trip this year.

Moleskine

I am in the habit of buying Moleskine journals.  I think they are great.  However, I'm more of a typer than a writer.  And if I ever wrote in my Moleskines as much as I journaled on my computer and for my blogs, I would fill volumes.

Song Mood: Funky Town by Lipps Inc.  As a strange thing happened as I was walking around Wally-world for no reason.  That song had been playing on the radio.  One of the workers of the store was singing the song, after it had played and then I sang it while I was looking for stuff.  Other shoppers were singing it after I passed them.  It was like a chain Funky Town performance in a store.
I am super tired as I am always during this time of the year tired.  Today, I felt a lot of pain in my back and sides, kind of like where my gallbladder used to be.  I stopped eating fried foods a little over a week ago.  Who knows.
I know I’m sounding like a broken record, but something needs to change.  Tomorrow needs to be a new day.
I went to the writer’s group tonight, not that many since the facilitator wasn’t there.
Tomorrow will be a day for taxes.  Then I will attempt to do some writing.  I came up with an idea for the project I’m working on.  Glum triggers Milo’s gift and in the process, M…

14 March 2020

It’s been a long day.  I woke up at 4:30am, hungry.
I went to Walmart to do the weekly grocery shopping.  I went to the lake.  I didn’t go out really.  Tomorrow will much of the same.
I didn’t get much of anything done, except for getting groceries and exercise.
I did watch The Pale Horse, a movie on Prime based off of Agatha Christie’s novel by the same name.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I haven’t read the novel and at this time I’m not sure I would have time, or it would be down the list by a lot.  I was most impressed with the wife in this little mini series that was the length of a movie.  The way she knifed a pillow, just gave me the chills.  And I thought that if I ever married Agatha Christie, I would sleep with one eye open.  She plotted out thousands of deaths within the hundreds of books she published.  I have a feeling that if I were married to her, she would have me on a leash and I would be happy because I would actually learn how to write mysteries.  Rufus Sewell has to b…
