Song Mood: We Built This City by Starship a.k.a. Jefferson Starship a.k.a. Jefferson Airplane.  I think of this as a time of building.  I’m building my writing career and though it may not be profitable, it’s really about the story.  So I’m building this city, erm, okay I’m building the fictional world.

I felt rather blah today, and that’s okay, it’s winter and I just never feel well during winter.  I feel mildly okay during summer but will complain that it’s hot.  In Autumn I’ll feel that life’s good and then sometime in November, wham I feel like crap again.

As I’m writing my novella this weekend, I added some scenes that won’t be explained until the sixth and final novella of the series.  It has something to do with time travel and a chronomancer.  Then I thought about what to do with the cover.  In all reality, I’ll need a graphic artist.  What I want mostly, for all my books, is something similar to the cover of The Monster of Elendhaven by Jennifer Giesbrecht.
To have someone do the cover work for me would entail talking with an artist or graphic artist.  For each cover would be a one time fee that is agreed upon by artist and writer, in this case me, and then I would need to set up a contract.  I once attended a panel at a comiccon that featured Alison Wilgus who wrote and illustrated Chronin.  She said that even if you are friends with the artist, you should always have some kind of contract between writer and artist.
Illustrations and covers, I think are time consuming.  But then I don’t know how much time it takes to do these things.  I know that when I was a draftsman, it would take me some time to finish drawings for a building.  Even if there was an engineering program that spit out designs, it still took time to clean them up before it got sent to the detailer.  So I don’t know if a simple cover would be a weekend project or longer.

But then, I’m about a third of the way done of the rough draft.  Then there is the editing and the sending to the beta readers.  I guess I’m just thinking of all that will be involved for me to finish the project.  It can be a bit disheartening, unless thought in advance and takled as a series of tasks over a time frame.

Anyway, I need to calculate what I need to write this week.  I have a goal in mind.  So I just need to figure out a daily word count goal and go from there.  I started writing the ending sequence.  With that, I’m hoping to expand on that scene so I don’t have to worry about the middle as much.  The middle will be about him learning his power.  It will be about Glum learning about her power and trying to find him.

But tonight, I just want to do some light reading and fall asleep.

I am in the habit of buying Moleskine journals.  I think they are great.  However, I'm more of a typer than a writer.  And if I ever wrote in my Moleskines as much as I journaled on my computer and for my blogs, I would fill volumes.

Song Mood: Funky Town by Lipps Inc.  As a strange thing happened as I was walking around Wally-world for no reason.  That song had been playing on the radio.  One of the workers of the store was singing the song, after it had played and then I sang it while I was looking for stuff.  Other shoppers were singing it after I passed them.  It was like a chain Funky Town performance in a store.
I am super tired as I am always during this time of the year tired.  Today, I felt a lot of pain in my back and sides, kind of like where my gallbladder used to be.  I stopped eating fried foods a little over a week ago.  Who knows.
I know I’m sounding like a broken record, but something needs to change.  Tomorrow needs to be a new day.
I went to the writer’s group tonight, not that many since the facilitator wasn’t there.
Tomorrow will be a day for taxes.  Then I will attempt to do some writing.  I came up with an idea for the project I’m working on.  Glum triggers Milo’s gift and in the process, M…

It’s been a long day.  I woke up at 4:30am, hungry.
I went to Walmart to do the weekly grocery shopping.  I went to the lake.  I didn’t go out really.  Tomorrow will much of the same.
I didn’t get much of anything done, except for getting groceries and exercise.
I did watch The Pale Horse, a movie on Prime based off of Agatha Christie’s novel by the same name.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I haven’t read the novel and at this time I’m not sure I would have time, or it would be down the list by a lot.  I was most impressed with the wife in this little mini series that was the length of a movie.  The way she knifed a pillow, just gave me the chills.  And I thought that if I ever married Agatha Christie, I would sleep with one eye open.  She plotted out thousands of deaths within the hundreds of books she published.  I have a feeling that if I were married to her, she would have me on a leash and I would be happy because I would actually learn how to write mysteries.  Rufus Sewell has to b…
