Song mood: You and Me by Lifehouse.
Tomorrow is going to be rough. I decided that caffeine is the enemy. So tomorrow, I will reduce the amount of coffee that I drink. And in it’s place will be tea. I think caffeine boasts my anxiety, so I will reduce the amount that I consume. Only when I do that, the headaches begin. One time I quit drinking coffee altogether and had a headache for six days straight.
I’m halfway through The October Country by Ray Bradbury. Once that is done, I think I will re-listen to Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. It’s one of my favorites. Part fantasy, part mystery and part horror all rolled into one. Gideon has to be one of the funniest character ever and yet pulls on the heart strings towards the end. That will get through to November.
Then, I’m going to switch things up a little. Sometimes I like to take a break from myself so to speak. So, after Gideon, I will listen to Uglies by Scott Westerfeld.
Also in this effort to take a break from myself, I have added The Barren Grounds by David A. Robertson to my kindle.
My goal before the end of the year is to finish a mystery. Hopefully within a day or two I will finish planning it.
Then my other project is to write down and outline all these other books I thought of on index cards. Many are fantasy. That way, I can work on mysteries, but have basic outlines for my fantasy works. If I get to them, great. If I don’t, they can be passed on other writers who need something to write. My works can live on, even if I don’t get to them because I want to focus on mysteries.
I watched the Bond movie No Time To Die and enjoyed it. I was a bit worried about the length of the movie, but it was a solid story line. Like Spectre should have been cut by half an hour to 45 minutes. But this last Bond movie had a well written story. And I hate to say it, I cried at the end. It will tie with Skyfall for best Bond movie.
I think will start watching some anime films. There were two that I always wanted to watch: Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. The last anime movie I watched was Cowboy Bebop the movie, in which I didn’t watch the series. The last anime series I watched was Samurai Seven season one. I used anime to make my Japanese better. When I moved to Korea, I kind of stopped watching anime. Mainly because I stopped learning Japanese and started learning Korean.
And when I start learning French again, there are a lot of French movies and TV shows on Netflix.
The rest of the week will be about plotting out the mystery. Then I will do low impact weight lifting to go along with my tai chi and walking. I will probably drink more water as I struggle with a lack of caffeine.
