Song mood: I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eye Peas.

I really liked watching your clips tonight. I like it when it looks like you aren’t wearing makeup. I loved the way you did your hair. I couldn’t help thinking: you are absolutely beautiful.

I’m running with that idea. The cool thing about that is, I’m excited about the project. And because of that, it’s easier to generate ideas for the story. So far, I figured out why the guy has to ‘disappear.’ Someone related to him has a gambling problem, or something like that.

The story will take place in Sydney, for a brief moment so I don’t have the conundrum of describing a place I haven’t been to yet. It will also take place in Seattle, then London and Paris. I thought about putting Tokyo into the story, but decided that may be too much.

Since it takes place in Seattle, it will feature my female detective: Erika Lund. Who, looks a lot like Jodi Whittaker a.k.a the thirteenth Doctor.

Today was the first day, I left the house in days. I ordered groceries. My order was delayed. Then it started snowing while I was waiting for my groceries. I got supper from Panera Bread. Mainly because their grilled mac-n-cheese sandwich. Their baguettes are okay, not nearly the same as ones you would buy in England or France. But I’m okay with that.

I went home and watched Eternals. It was an okay movie. I think it had too many locations and too much skipping around the time line. I also think they are Marvel’s version of the Justice League.

Then I watched your clips and couldn’t help but feel love for you. Anyway.

Hopefully, this storm is done by tomorrow. It’s supposed to snow between three to five inches. And for the next week or so, the temps will be lower because of the snow. I’m not a huge fan of winter. My skin will be all itchy until spring.

Tomorrow will be about reading and watching mystery movies. At some point I will probably go on my rowing machine to get some exercise.

And most likely I will do a covid test tomorrow. I feel fine. I just want to make sure I don’t have it before hanging out with other people.

Because of the weather, my bestie from college will hang out with me on Sunday morning for tea instead of tomorrow. Maybe, I will talk him into doing a video or two with me telling puns. He’s the pun master.

It’s going to be cold tomorrow. But it’s winter. Though, all I will want to do is curl up read a book, I have to make sure that I move around a bit tomorrow.

Song mood: Mysterious Ways by U2. Currently I’m listening to The Ruin by Dervla McTiernan.  I’ve listened to a couple of novellas that she wrote where her detective Cormac Reilly briefly shows up in and liked them.  This is the first book with her star detective.  Between McTiernan and Trevor on who writes better suspense, I would say hands down McTiernan.   A person who writes mysteries as a genre follow a set of conventions so that the reader isn’t in a state of confusion.  One great example is putting dates before each section or series of sections.  Literary writers don’t follow conventions and the confusion at times come from the writing.  Where I say, let the characters mislead the reader not the writing itself. I am enjoying The Ruin .  It’s nice to get back to a solid mystery. I continue to walk at the lake.  Although, it’s a modified path where I get around 2.5 miles instead 4 miles.  I still need to figure out what to do for exercise in the winter.  I want to get a rowing m

Song mood: In Too Deep by Genesis. It’s been an Inspector Morse weekend.  I’m halfway through the original series.  I think I came upon an understanding.  If the show follows the book closely, it will say based on the book.  After the second season, the shows stopped following the books closely and then it says based off the characters.  Some of them say based off an idea by the author, which would indicate that the author collaborated with the producers for the screenplay. The other thing that I realized is that if they are going to follow the series, Chief Inspector Thursday won’t be in the new show for much longer.  Which this last season hinted at. I expect to work on my own mystery this week.  It happens in Sandy, England.  My Inspector Trevor is surnamed after the Irish author, William Trevor.   Trevor is one of the biggest names in literature.  Or he was when I attended college for Creative Writing.  I’ve read a few of his short stories.  I think I should listen to a fe

Song mood: Hazy Shade of Winter by the Bangles. More cousins are catching either covid of the flu. Thankfully, no one has caught fluvid yet. I have been isolating, which isn’t much different than before this last wave struck. My mum went to the doctor today. And I thought they were going to schedule the procedure. The doctors told her they need to run more tests. She has hypertension in her lungs. Two of her valves are leaking blood into the lungs. The next appointment is on 28 January. So that has been a bit stressful. Currently listening to Essays by George Orwell. It’s the whole collection of his essays. I really love Orwell’s writing. The far right like to quote him, but they have never really read him. Because if they had, they would know like those of us who have read his essays, that he was a socialist. He was a part of the British socialist party, which is the Labor party. He really believed that we should be helping out our brotherhood of man. I will be listening to this for
